Frequently asked questions

What age is this film appropriate for?+
There is nothing visually explicit or illicit shown in the film that would be inappropriate for younger viewers. However, parents should be aware that the film discusses topics such as alcoholism, drug addiction, and pornography as part of Matt Talbot’s conversion story and the testimonies of those featured. We recommend that parents be prepared to discuss these topics in an age-appropriate manner following the screening. Many families have found the film to be a valuable opportunity for meaningful conversations about faith, temptation, healing, and God’s mercy.
Can I host a screening at my parish, school, recovery group, or organization?+
Yes. We welcome screenings at parishes, schools, seminaries, recovery ministries, men’s and women’s groups, conferences, and community organizations. There is no screening fee for approved Matt Talbot retreats. Please contact us with details about your retreat, and we will be happy to discuss how the film can be incorporated into your program.
Is a discussion guide available?+
Yes. Hosting organizations can receive discussion questions and suggested conversation topics to help facilitate meaningful dialogue after the film.
Can a speaker join our screening?+
Depending on availability, members of the production team, recovery ministry leaders, or individuals connected to the film may be available to participate in a live or virtual Q&A session. Please contact grace@joyfulfilms.com for more information.
How do I schedule a screening?+
Simply complete the screening request form on this page. A member of our team will follow up with information about available screening options, licensing, and support materials.
Do we need to provide audio/visual equipment?+

Not necessarily. There are several options for hosting a screening, and our team is happy to help you determine the best fit for your community.

  • Partner with a local theater. In some cases, independently owned theaters may be willing to host the film in exchange for a share of ticket sales rather than an upfront rental fee. We can work with you to explore theater options in your area.
  • Rent a theater near your parish or organization. Many hosts choose to rent a local theater for a special one-night event.
  • Use your own venue. Parish halls, school auditoriums, conference centers, and other meeting spaces often have built-in projection and sound systems that work well for screenings.
  • Provide your own AV setup. If you have access to projection and sound equipment, we can provide the film and technical specifications needed for a successful event.
  • Have us bring the equipment. For screenings within approximately two hours of the Philadelphia area, we can provide a professional projection and sound package, including a 200-inch screen and high-quality audio suitable for audiences of up to 100 attendees.

For events outside this region, we may still be able to provide equipment, but we ask that travel expenses be covered. No matter which option you choose, our team will work with you to help ensure a successful screening experience.
